Key Search Criteria

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the area of corporate communications, public relations and media relations;
  • Large public company experience on both a national and international basis;
  • Fluent in both French and English (written and spoken).

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Public and Corporate Affairs, the candidate will be responsible for corporate communications, media relations and employee/community engagement and the integration of the Company’s Corporate values and brand image positioning within its overall communication strategy.

Corporate Communications and Media Relations:
  • Overall responsibility for media relations and development of global media program to support the Company’s branding strategy:Corporate announcements and communications (Media, Employees, NGO’s, Local Stakeholders)
    • Organization of corporate public relations campaign
    • Development of media training program
    • Implementation of standardized media procedures to be followed at all global locations
    • Management of public relations agency relationship
  • Social Media strategy to support Company’s branding strategy
  • Corporate sponsorship strategy to support Company’s branding strategy
  • Strategy for public speaking opportunities (Thought leadership)
  • Development and rationalization of web strategy
  • Crisis management
  • Ultimate responsibility for quality control on all communications
  • Co-ordination and liaising with investor relations function
  • Corporate video for stakeholders outside of the consumer market (conferences, government agencies, NGO’s, etc.)
  • Co-ordination of annual shareholders’ meeting
