Director of Marketing and Product Development


Responsibility for a group of products within the company portfolio, incl . :

  • Product offering management : monitor competitive landscape, obtain market intelligence to determine customer wants and needs; and review existing offerings to provide offering by channel within a good, better, best strategy or a combination thereof where warranted
  • Determine inventory levels needed to support the business
  • Continually evaluate existing sources of products in terms of quality, price, performance, competitiveness
  • Identify new product opportunities
  • New product development from concept, sourcing, go to market strategy i.e. responsible for New product Introduction (NPI) process
  • Product packaging and design
  • Promotional product development
  • Review and report on product categories sales and GM performance vs targets and inventory levels performance vs targets
  • Present new programs to customers together with sales team
  • Participate in business planning and budgeting process
  • Develop merchandising tools and POS material
  • Train internal staff and reps on new products
  • Develop marketing material to support sales launch of new products
  • Supervision of a Product Manager, a Marketing Coordinator and e-Marketing Specialist

  • Must have previous product development and management of at least five (5) years; concept design, packaging, merchandising
  • Must have experience sourcing product and dealing with factories and agents in the far East
  • Preference given to bilingual candidates (French and English); mandarin a plus
  • Preference given to candidates with solid experience in consumer durables and retail
